That is a question best left up to you. We can't determine if a puppy is right for you, but there are a couple of things to consider as you move toward a final decision.
A puppy is a lifetime commitment to a pet that is relying upon you for love, affection, and care. A puppy is very demanding in that you must have the patience and compassion for raising the animal from a young pup to a full-grown dog. Poor training can result in a dog that is not well-mannered or well-behaved. You need to have ample time to devote to raising the puppy. Spending quality time together is the best way to forge a strong bond with your new best buddy.
We highly recommend that anyone considering the purchase of a puppy remember that puppies grow up into full-grown dogs and making a commitment to your pet for the long-term is a promise that must be kept for the dog's sake. If you are unprepared or unwilling to commit to caring for your pet through every phase of its life, a puppy may not be right for you.
The best way to potty train your new puppy is through routine and repetition. Puppies are smart, they can learn quickly but only if they are taught properly. In the case of potty training, it's up to you to set a routine for learning and establishing a series of useful steps that show the puppy right from wrong.
The goal is to teach the puppy to go to the bathroom outside. But this type of training takes time and requires a patient approach to trial and error. The puppy will go to the bathroom in the house at least once or twice. It's just a fact. We do recommend the use of housebreaking pads at the start of the training process, then slowly graduating to daily walks for when the puppy needs a bathroom break.
But if you are able to take the time necessary for proper training, before long, your puppy will be fully housebroken.
PuppyPetite.com works only with a trusteed group of private breeders who have been in the business for years. The safest way to purchase a puppy is from a reputable dealer who holds a current certificate and up to date license with a state board or health department for the sale of live animals. This is the only real assurance that you are working with a trusted retailer offering puppies for sale. PuppyPetite.com ensures the health and well being of all our puppies with preventive care through routine veterinary visits. Our puppies receive the nutrition they need to grow up big and strong and receive daily vitamins and plenty of fresh, clean water.
PuppyPetite.com offers Maltese, Chihuahua, Shih-Tzu, and Yorkie puppies for purchase. We suggest you conduct some research into these dogs to determine whether or not these breeds are a good fit.
